Baylor just completed six years as vice president of marketing, enrollment and student services at the University of South Dakota-Vermillion.

Before that, he was at St. Leo University, a private, Roman Catholic, liberal arts institution in St. Leo, Florida, from 2005-08, first as assistant vice president of enrollment and then as assistant vice president of student services.

He also served in several roles—associate dean of students, dean of enrollment and dean of admission—at Thiel College, Greenville, Pennsylvania, from 2000-05. Thiel is a private, liberal arts/ sciences and professional studies college that relates to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Baylor graduated with a B.A. in business management from Marietta (Ohio) College in 1993. From 1994-99, he was on the Marietta College staff, working in residence life as well as in the position of associate/assistant director of admission.

He earned an M.A. in guidance and counseling from Marietta and an MBA from Tiffin (Ohio) University.

Baylor began his new position at Bethel June 23.

I’m very excited about the opportunity to serve the Bethel College community, Baylor said. I knew from the time I stepped onto campus and met the people—faculty, students and staff—that this was an institution with a rich history and a bright future.

My previous experiences at small, private institutions have prepared me for the opportunities here at Bethel.
