Two special exhibits this fall helped celebrate Bethel’s 125th anniversary along with the visual arts at Bethel.

One was an alumni exhibit in Mojo’s Coffee Shop and the other was Generations in the Fine Arts Center Gallery.

The latter featured work by Bethel art faculty from the past 50 years.

FAC Gallery coordinator Rachel Epp Buller ’96, assistant professor of art, planned most of the 2012-13 shows to feature Bethel alumni.

However, for Fall Festival, she said, it seemed appropriate to showcase the work of former and current faculty, since alumni of many ages come to that show and would have connections with some of those faculty members.

Current art faculty Epp Buller and David Long, professor of art, both
had work in the show. In addition Generations included former faculty Gail Lutsch (1981-2009), Merrill Krabill (1989-2001), Bob Regier ’52 (1965-92), Paul Friesen (1960-89) and Miguel Almanza (1968-80).

Epp Buller exhibited prints; Long, cast resin and ceramic sculpture; Lutsch, prints; Krabill, inkjet prints and mixed media; Regier, pastels and photography; Friesen, wood sculpture and ceramics; and Almanza, paintings.

You can find more photos of art featured in the "Generations" exhibit in Bethel's online photo gallery.
